Dr. George Njenga

Strathmore University Business School

Dr. George N. Njenga PhD, MSc, MBA, BSc, CPA (K) is the Founding Dean of Strathmore University Business School; Chief of Party of USAID Strategic Partnership Program, Director of Strathmore Research and Consulting Company, and a seasoned Senior Lecturer for over 25 years. He holds Board Chairman positions in Origen Group, and Image Registrars and serves in several other institutions at the board level.

Dr. Njenga is educated in Accounting, Finance, Business Strategy, Governance, and Leadership development. He has a Ph.D. (Hons.) in Political Philosophy from the University of Navarra, Spain. He holds a Masters in Governance and Culture of Institutions (MGCI), a Masters’s in Business Administration, and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya.

Dr Njenga believes that building great educational institutions and ensuring that world-class research and skills development of core National strategies would produce great leaders for society. He is on the leadership team establishing Strathmore University and the Founding Dean of Strathmore University Business School. He has also established globally accredited
Institutes in Agribusiness, Public Policy, Healthcare Management, and Business Development. To communicate the imperatives of development well, he led the team that established the African Media Centre Initiative for Data and Business Journalism (in partnership with Bloomberg Media (Initiative Africa-BMIA). He has worked with his colleagues to set up a
digital platform, encouraged blended and online learning, and worked with the World Bank CGAP team to extend this in Africa.

He partnered to set up a thriving School of Finance and Banking in Kigali,Rwanda, now part of the University of Rwanda. He has worked as a senior auditor at Ernst and Young, Kenya. He is an Executive Board member of the Global Business Schools Network and a seasoned Consultant.

He has served as a Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Strathmore University and in several other board memberships; Co-founder of Ongoza Youth Foundation, helped set up as Director GOAL, Ireland (Kenya Chapter);
Chairman, Verve Ltd.
