Michael Mbaka, is a Financial Inclusion and Innovations Specialist. He recently joined ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company) as Country Relationship Manager – Kenya for A De-Risking, Inclusion And Value Enhancement Of Pastoral Economies In The Horn Of Africa Project (Drive)) project. He has previously worked as Senior Financial Inclusion Specialist with FSD Kenya. He also has vast experience in banking, insurance, and market access.

He has vast experience in banking, insurance, market access, financial inclusion and building livelihoods models. Michael has worked in diverse sectors developing financial models that meet the real economy needs in agricultural, health, education, informal workers among others in the region. His work in innovation not only focuses in developing systems to increase productivity, incomes and resilience of the households but also explores how finance can be deployed to solve real world problems like better health, labour, education among others.
