Mwombeki is an Investment Office at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) based in Nairobi. He is passionate about the impact of agriculture in poverty reduction and development and the game changers for smallholder farmers to enjoy higher productivity and incomes. He is enthusiastic on the potential that technology can play to positively impact the lives of smallholder farmers and improve food systems globally.

He is keen to see the power of technology for smallholder farmers in Africa go beyond payments and into improving farm productivity, quality, marketing, environment, and in local and global health and food systems. Prior to IFC he worked to facilitate millions of smallholder farmers to uptake financial services, including digital financial services, and is eager to further facilitate technology, finance, and policy to play a deeper role to improve their economic activities and livelihoods. He is a member of AgriFin Advisory Council. Among other institutions he has worked for include Financial Sector Deepening Trust in Tanzania (FSDT), NMB Bank, The World Bank, and MicroVest Capital.
