Njeri Ngaruiya Ng’ang’a (PhD) is a Faculty Lecturer at Strathmore University and a consultant as an ICT4D Lead Researcher at Qhala. Njeri is dedicated to leveraging technology for social and economic development in low- and middle-income communities. With a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Nairobi, she has extensive experience in crafting and implementing user-centered, community-led technological solutions across various sectors, including health, education, agriculture, gender equality, and financial inclusion. As an advocate for applied Artificial Intelligence (AI), Njeri integrates AI technologies into her work, exploring innovative applications that address critical challenges in developing regions. Her research and projects focus on how AI can enhance the efficacy and reach of ICT4D initiatives, contributing to sustainable development goals. By harnessing the power of AI, she aims to create scalable and sustainable solutions that empower local communities, improve resource management, and foster economic growth. Njeri’s commitment to gender equality is reflected in her work to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusive technological advancements. She collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure that women and marginalized groups have access to and benefit from sustainable solutions. Her projects, which are research in action-orientated, have grown to now include training and capacity-building initiatives, equipping individuals with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world.
