Paul is the Head of Projects at Equity Bank Uganda. His has been instrumental in the establishment of the social investments department, an arm of Equity Group Foundation in Uganda. Equity Group Foundation [EGF] is a not-for-profit foundation established in 2008. It is the social arm and serves as the corporate philanthropy vehicle of Equity Group Holdings Plc, a financial services company, that operates in six African countries, championing the socio-economic transformation of the people of Africa. EGF’s mission is to champion the transformation of lives and livelihoods through the design and implementation of innovative programs that leverage the Group’s infrastructure and partnerships to create shared value for the people of Africa. To achieve this mission, EGF implements programs in the following thematic areas: Education and Leadership Development, Food and Agriculture, Health, Enterprise Development and Financial Inclusion, Energy and Environment and Social Protection.
Paul is an MBA graduate of Herriot-Watt University, holding CISA, CISM, PMP and FCCA professional qualifications. He has over 14 years of working experience in Advisory and Program Management Services in over 12 countries. Before joining Equity Bank, Paul worked in Afghanistan on a capacity building program, for the Supreme Audit Office (SAO), government of Afghanistan under the Public Financial Management Reform (PFMR-II) and Fiscal Performance Improvement Support Project (FSP) funded by World Bank grant.
Paul has also in Ernst & Young advisory services, from 2005 to 2013. Paul is skilled in governance and risk management and communicating and building strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders. He has first-hand advisory and project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead formulation and oversight of implementation of strategic transformation projects. Paul’s strategic change leadership skills were demonstrated while working as PMO for Bharti Airtel between 2013 and 2016, leading a complex and challenging first in-country merger and integration of two large telecom companies, Airtel and Warid Telecom with about 7.2 million subscribers. Helped in managing strategic change risk and building organization synergy in this Airtel merger project, where he led a multistakeholder team, to successfully deliver this multi-million-dollar merger and acquisition program, in 18 months.
