Seema Gohil
Director, Digifarm
Seema Gohil is currently the Director of Digifarm, Safaricom’s AgTech platform transforming the livelihoods of smallholder farmers by combining technology, data, and partnerships. Seema began her career in 2005 as an Investment Banker at Morgan Stanley in New York. She then joined Grameen America, to build the microfinance company and tackle financial inclusion in America. She served as their Director of Finance, and subsequently Vice President of Finance from 2009-2013.
In 2013 she co-founded Closet Collective, a company she led up until 2016 when she joined the Management Team at Bionic Solution. At Bionic, she led strategy and finance for the innovation studio, and helped build the company to one of Inc.’s fastest growing companies in America.
In 2019, she returned to Kenya and became a founder and Managing Partner of Afka Ventures. In 2021 Seema joined Acumen Fund, where she was the Associate Director for the East Africa Agriculture Portfolio and the Board Observer for Coconut Holdings Limited.
Seema is an entrepreneur with a deep passion for unlocking the strength of teams and leveraging technology to build innovative solutions. She is currently focused on investing in and developing agribusinesses across East Africa to build sustainable food systems and tackle food insecurity, climate change and nutrition.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami, and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
