Sophie is the producer of the Shamba Shape Up Kenya Series at the Mediae Company. The farm makeover Tv programme has been running in Kenya for 12 years, recently completed its first year of broadcast in Uganda and launched in Zambia in September 2022. With a focus on Climate Smart Adaptation, Shamba Shape Up is filmed on smallholder farms across each country. The programme addresses the problems that farmer’s face, supports them to increase their production and encourages them to farm as a business. In Kenya the programme airs in English and Kiswahili, reaching over 8 million weekly viewers.

It is further backed-up by the iShamba digital information service, which allows farmers to put questions to trained agronomists, access further agronomic advisory and receive a localized weather forecast.Sophie also manages various edu-tainment productions at Mediae, such as a series of short climate smart videos, training animations for rangeland management in northern Kenya and an Africa-wide campaign against eating, buying and trading bushmeat. Founded in 1997, Mediae has a long history of producing highly popular, wide reaching TV, radio, print and mobile phone programmes throughout East Africa and into other Sub Saharan Countries.
