Vineet Bhandari
Associate Partner, Dalberg Advisory
Vineet Bhandari is an Associate Partner in Dalberg’s Mumbai office and much of his work lies in the firm’s Agriculture and Financial Inclusion practice area. He specializes in blended human-centered design and traditional strategy consulting approaches, having worked in our Advisory as well as in the Design business.
Over the past few years, Vineet has worked with AgTechs, Agri-businesses, state governments, ecosystem players as well as philanthropic actors and has a deep understanding of the Agriculture ecosystem in India. He is currently co-leading the Agrifin for Women programme in India. Under the program, Vineet is leading engagement with two of the largest Agtechs in India to drive a gender lens in their products/services and channel strategies to increase the incomes of women smallholder farmers. Previously, he has worked with the leadership of IDH and the Better Cotton Initiative to design an innovation challenge to catalyze AgTech innovations in their initiatives in the cotton value chain.
In recent work on Gender, apart from the Agrifin for Women programme, Vineet led one of the largest surveys in India to understand the gendered impact of the pandemic. The objective of the survey is to understand the impact of the pandemic across several dimensions – health and nutrition, employment and livelihood opportunities, debt and assets, and shift in gendered norms and perceptions. Previously, he also studied and analysed the gender gap in financial inclusion in India. He advised the Government of Chhattisgarh on introducing gender-inclusive smartphone-based solutions for SHG members in the state to reduce the digital gender divide and improve their livelihoods.
