Wangari is a development consultant with over eleven years of experience across Africa in sectors/themes such as agriculture, enterprise development and livelihoods, financial services, and gender/women empowerment. She has worked extensively with both SMEs and corporate institutions supporting them across business model design, strategy and operations. The core of Wangari’s professional drive is to facilitate private sector development that simultaneously addresses social challenges and promotes environmental and economic prosperity.

In the last 7 years, she has been providing capacity building and technical assistance to SMEs (with a key focus on agribusinesses) across the different growth stages to enhance their sustainability and scalability. Particularly, supporting them with the development of operational strategies, business model design and refinement, development of business plans and investment readiness support. Wangari is currently a Project Manager within IDH’s Business Analytic’s team. She is also a Board of Director at Ongoza, an entrepreneur support organisation based in Kenya that provides business and investment advisory to youth led businesses in the country.
