Backson Mwangi holds a PhD Degree in Agricultural Economics. He works at the World Food Programme (WFP) Kenya country office managing Inclusive Markets, Post-Harvest Management and Logistics portfolio under Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA). His professional work experience with smallholder producers and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) spans over a decade and is related to food security and resilience programs. He has a passion in matching demand and supply of products and services through creation of sustainable linkages with smallholder producers and private/public sector players especially at the last and first mile nodes. Additionally, Backson passionately loves working on initiatives that intentionally aim at creating sustainable employment opportunities for the young people.
