Dr. Stephen Mutuvi has a background in Computer Science and specializes in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning. He applies cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning techniques to address pressing human challenges such as food security, health, and climate change. Currently, Dr. Mutuvi serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow at CIAT, where he focuses on developing AI and imaging technology to extract phenotypic traits for crop breeding. He is also the Principal Investigator for the NDIZI project (NLP to Develop and Innovate Zero-shot Intelligence), which aims to develop speech and NLP approaches for gathering farmer feedback on crop traits.
