Agri Business at the AECF ( Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund)

Fred Kiio is a champion of innovation and private sector investments as vehicles for unlocking sustainable economic transformation of vulnerable communities in Africa.  He is currently the Associate Director- Agri Business at the AECF ( Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund). In this role, he is responsible for providing leadership in agribusiness strategy development and implementation of a $100m portfolio across eight countries in Africa. Previously, he has been credited with pioneering DigiFarm- Safaricom’s agribusiness platform, in addition to holding various commercial leadership roles in the telecommunications sector for over fifteen years.

A University of Nairobi graduate (B.com  Accounting), CPA, he is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Agribusiness Management at Strathmore Business School. Fred has extensive expertise and experience in Private Sector Development Financing, AgriTech,  Food Systems, Commercial, and Entrepreneurship.

At a personal level, Fred is a social entrepreneur in the Agribusiness Sector. When not creating and executing business opportunities, Fred spends most of his free time with family at his farm. A sports enthusiast, he will always create time to watch  Football, Tennis, and Formula 1.
