Winnie Onyango, Associate Country Director, Field Research Extension officer at PlantVillage and the Lead at Dream Team Agroconsultancy Limited. I hold a Bachelor degree in Agricultural Extension and Education from Moi University Eldoret Kenya and Phd student at Penn State University. I am currently working towards helping smallholder farmers adapt to climate change through democratization and dissemination of knowledge and technology, optimized locally and scaled globally and creating a conducive environment for youths to fully exercise their potentials and intelligence in the field of agriculture and research.

For the past three years working with PlantVillage i have been able to actively participate in various research and projects namely; integration of human intelligence (Youths) with application of artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnosis of diseases and pests on crops,scaling of Integrated Pest Management packages across 10 counties in Kenya, that is, control of FAW using parasitoids and biopesticides, use of kichawi kill fungus to control striga,organic fertilizer biochar, zai pits, and intercropping, agroforestry, push pull technology to help farmers build resilience and adapt to climate change.I have gained passion towards representation of women, youths and small scale farmers across the world and have participated in training of 60 Farmers in Tanzania in June, 2021, training of 10 youths from Uganda in January, 2022 , training 11 youths in Mozambique in March, 2022 and finally trained 6 youths in Arba Minch, Ethiopia. My experience landed me to participate as a keynote speaker at International Convening for ethiopia DAEAS Roadmap in June, 2022, participated as a keynote speaker at the kick-off meeting of Malawi Digital Plant Health Service in August, 2022 in Lilongwe and currently participated in Alliance for Green Revolution Fund 2022 Summit as a speaker that was held in Kigali, Rwanda.
