Edgar Kitur

Managing Partner,
Halkin group

Edgar Kipngetich Kitur is an investor, entrepreneur and business executive with experience spanning investment management, international commodities trading, structured finance, technology, infrastructure and business operations across Africa and Europe. He is Managing Partner of Halkin Group, an investment holding company with a private equity-style approach to identifying opportunities, structuring investments, building businesses and creating long-term value through strategic partnerships and operational execution.
Edgar’s career combines financial and transaction expertise with hands-on experience building and scaling businesses. He began his career at PwC in the United Kingdom, working in valuation and investment analysis, before joining Trafigura in London as a Trade Finance and Commodities Trading Analyst. At Trafigura, he supported the execution of more than US$640 million in trade-finance facilities. His work exposed him to international commodity markets, trade finance, transaction structuring, pricing, regional arbitrage, freight, foreign exchange, and counterparty risk, providing a strong foundation in the commercial and financial mechanics of cross-border trade.
He subsequently joined Supper London as a founding commercial executive and Senior Vice President, helping scale a premium on-demand delivery business from pre-revenue to more than £10 million in annual gross merchandise value. He developed and managed more than 50 commercial partnerships with leading hospitality and luxury retail brands, including Nobu, Fortnum & Mason, Hakkasan, Tao Group, Harrods and Selfridges. He also supported the company’s growth-capital fundraising efforts, gaining experience in commercial strategy, partnership development and scaling a consumer technology business.
Edgar later served as Chief of Staff and Chief Executive Officer at Halkin Group, overseeing investment activities, portfolio strategy, and value-creation initiatives across African markets. During this period, he was involved in a cross-border capital deployment programme exceeding US$64 million across five African markets. His work included supporting portfolio growth, improving operational performance, identifying recurring cost efficiencies, and developing commercial strategies to strengthen business performance. These experiences helped shape his investment philosophy: combining disciplined capital allocation with practical operating experience to build sustainable, commercially viable businesses.
In 2020, Edgar co-founded AiCare, an AI-driven technology venture focused on telematics and insurance applications, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. AiCare was an Antler portfolio company. His responsibilities included venture development, commercial partnerships, operational execution, and capital formation. The business raised more than US$750,000 from institutional and strategic investors, including Antler and Toyota, and developed strategic engagement with insurance-sector partners, including Britam. This experience deepened his involvement in early-stage company building and the application of technology to established industries.
Edgar subsequently joined Bolt Food, progressing through country, regional, and general management responsibilities. As General Manager of Bolt Food in Kenya, he led a multi-category digital commerce business spanning food delivery, grocery, and retail, with responsibility for commercial performance, financial management, operations, partnerships, and market development. His broader leadership experience included regional responsibilities across Africa and international markets. During his tenure, he contributed to significant revenue growth and developed a US$5 million blended-financing initiative with Shell Foundation. His work also included the development of grocery and retail operations, strategic merchant partnerships, and initiatives supporting electric-mobility adoption.
Today, Edgar’s work centres on investment, business development, strategic partnerships and infrastructure opportunities through Halkin Group and its related businesses. His interests include transport and logistics, mobility, digital infrastructure, technology-enabled services, commodities and trade-related opportunities. Through initiatives including Deansgate Infrastructure Advisory, he is involved in developing infrastructure and transaction opportunities across African markets, with an emphasis on commercially sustainable models, public-private collaboration, investment structuring and the mobilisation of strategic capital. His broader approach is to identify structural market needs, bring together the right commercial and financial partners, and translate opportunities into investable, operational businesses and platforms.
Across his career, Edgar has worked at the intersection of capital, commerce and execution. His experience spans investment analysis, trade finance, transaction structuring, portfolio development, fundraising, commercial partnerships, P&L leadership and cross-border business development. This combination of investor and operator perspectives informs his approach to building
businesses and developing opportunities in markets where infrastructure gaps, evolving consumer demand and technology adoption create potential for long-term growth.
Edgar holds a BA (Hons) in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Infrastructure Investment and Finance from University College London (UCL).
He is particularly interested in opportunities that combine disciplined investment, strong commercial fundamentals, strategic partnerships and operational execution to unlock sustainable growth across Africa and international markets.
