Smallholder farmers operate amidst numerous environmental and economic shocks that threaten their livelihoods. These includes effects of climate change leading to rainfall variation- droughts and floods, proliferation of disease incidences and pest infestation like the recent desert locust invasion. These have been further exacerbated by pandemics like Covid-19 and rising input prices. The booming digital technology era provides a viable pathway of building farmer resilience against these shocks. Mercy Corps AgriFinharnesses the power of digital technologies and would like to welcome participants to the 6th Annual Learning Event (ALE) scheduled to take place on November 22, 2022, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The 6th AgriFin Annual Learning Event themed “Developing smallholder farmer resilience in the face of global issues” will create a perfect learning forum to share tested digital technologies and practices that strengthen resilience of smallholder farmers.
